GAS TURBINE COMPANY GETS TURBOCHARGED WITH PaaS
A subsidiary of a fortune 500 – and one of the world’s top designers and manufacturers of industrial gas turbines – was facing strong competition and wanted to retain its market share.
They wanted to introduce a new service platform that would help its customers manage turbomachinery and site operations, enabling them to open up new revenue streams with customers now paying a recurring service fee for accessing and using the platform.
Ness developed a Platform as a Service (PaaS) including 100+ web, mobile and desktop applications to support the client and its customers in the entire lifecycle process – from contract negotiation, through commissioning on-site, data acquisition, machine and field monitoring, data analysis and prediction, up to condition inspection and maintenance. The PaaS provides real-time data in the office or on the go and allows for remote troubleshooting, anytime, anywhere.
The PaaS developed by Ness allowed for the successful and secure connection of 2,100+ gas turbines to the service platform, enabling the management of their entire life cycle. Customers using the PaaS experienced increased asset availability and optimized site operations by avoiding 603,000+ hours of unplanned downtime.
